Essential Oil Jewelry Cleaner

This morning I looked for my essential oil jewelry cleaner because I noticed my ring was full of soap and hand lotion. I couldn’t find it anywhere and couldn’t remember the ingredients on the side of the container.

Around lunchtime I had one of those light-bulb moments realizing that I could probably mix up some citrus essential oils to clean my jewelry. When I came up with a good mix that worked really well, I figured I would share the recipe with you.  Now you can easily make this essential oil jewelry cleaner for yourself.  It’s SO easy…

Essential Oil Jewelry Cleaner Receipe:

  • 15-20 drops of Lemon Essential Oil
  • 1/16 teaspoon of Baking Soda

Find a small container to put the mix in. Keep in mind that the container should be small enough so that when you add the essential oil, there will be enough depth to cover your ring (or whatever you want to clean).

Once I added the baking soda to the Lemon Essential Oil, I mixed it up until the baking soda dissolved.  Then I placed my ring in the mix and let it soak for 5-8 minutes.  Every once in awhile I would jiggle to container to make sure the ring was getting good coverage.

When the time is up, remove your jewelry and use an old toothbrush to scrub away the built-up gunk.  It works best to dip the head of the toothbrush into you essential oil prior to the scrubbing, this will give the toothbrush a little extra oomph.

Once you are done scrubbing, rinse your jewelry with water and then dry it with a clean cloth.  And ta da, your jewelry is shiny and sparkly again!
